Is Keyword Writing for You or Your Reader?

There you are, laboring over your keywords. Writing used to be quick and easy for you but now you worry about keyword density, keyword placement and all those other keyword issues.

But what’s a keyword for anyway?

Web writers often wonder if writing using proper keyword density is for the web site writer or for the reader? Well the answer to that is – keyword writing is for both the writer and the reader.

You, the writer benefit by using keywords through the increase in traffic your website or blog receives when an interested reader finds your content. Keywords are the driving force on the web that brings readers to what you have to offer.

Therefore, keyword writing is for the benefit of the writer.

But wait – there’s more.

Readers won’t stay at your site very long if they don’t find what they want and find it fast. Online readers are not like literary readers who are willing to let you tease them by setting the scene for your story before getting to the point. The online writer is rather spoiled. She wants to get to the point fast. That reader clicks to your site and expects to see some type of evidence that you have what she’s looking for before giving you the chance to go on.

Having the right keywords front and center at the beginning of your web page are a key to keeping the reader at your site long enough to get him to do what you desire. And actually, online, you want to get readers to do what they want to do – that is, buy something, find something, order something, learn something.

So keywords are for your readers benefit too.

Looks like keyword writing works for everyone online. Getting keyword content written just for you could be the best business move you make in 2009.

SEO Writing & Your Web Pages

Writing seo content for your web pages can really be fun when you know what to do. First of all, make each page of your website focused on one topic. That was a difficult concept for me to grasp at first.

The reason is that many web sites seem to pile all types of information on each page. But this makes pages hard to find unless you are searching for specific information. These pages don’t always rank high in the search engines.

The best websites or the ones that are easy to read and navigate. People come to these type of pages the most.

The best websites focus on one keyword per page. So find the one keyword to focus on when you plan your website. You will find it a lot easier to get your website written.

Start with a list of your designated keywords. List these out and determine which keywords you want to use for your main pages. Then select keywords to go under the main ones as sub-keyword topics. This is similar to having a book chapter with topics within the chapters.

For instance:

How to fly a kite
* Kite flying start-up
* Kite construction
* Get kite ready to fly

Of course, “How to fly a kite” would be the main page. On that page you write content that links to information on kite flying start-up, kite construction, and get kite ready to fly. These links do not have to be in the web site content area. People will only get to them by reading the information on that particular page and clicking the links.

Start writing your web navigation by listing your main keywords then put the sub-keywords into place. This will help get your writing plan started and your website will be easier to finish.

SEO Content in Web Articles

Writing articles for the web is one of the best ways to drive traffic to your sites. People come to the web to read information. They want answers to questions. Some want to learn new ideas or techniques. Web articles are a primary source of information.

Writing web articles is a task that really isn’t that difficult to learn. Once you get the technique down, you can whip out an article in 30 minutes or so. The key is to know the keywords you want to use and write around those words.

Writing around your keywords gives several advantages:

1. Readers feel they are getting what they want. People find your articles by typing in keywords. When you provide the words they are looking for in your article, the reader feels he is getting what he looked for.

2. You keep the information more relevant. Writing around a keyword keeps your writing focused. You write to answer the question posed by that keyword. This means the information will be tighter and more relevant to that keyword.

3. You write faster. If you’re going to focus on one keyword, your writing will be faster. You won’t tend to ramble as much and will get to the point. This is good for you as a writer and good for the reader who won’t get bored.

4. You’ll know when to stop. If you’re writing in a focused manner around one keyword, you will eventually run out of information to put in your articles. Most articles for web directories are 500 to 1200 words. If you have more information than that, break it up into two articles.

Write an article a day to get into the habit of writing web articles. You will be pleased to see how much quicker the process goes with some practice. You’ll also love driving traffic to your site with seo rich content.

Why Search Engines Love SEO Content

You’ve heard repeatedly that search engines love SEO content. Do you know why? It has to do with the spiders.

If you’re afraid of spiders don’t worry; these won’t jump out at you. Spiders are the little robots that crawl through the web sites on the Internet to find pages that have content people are searching for.

Looking for web content is like going through a giant index in the largest book in the universe. The process starts when you type a word into a search engine browser. That happens when you go online and decide to type a word in the little bar at the top of the page. This starts a search. Immediately, the robots form the search engine shoot out into the web to find a response to pages that have the information you search for.

Pages are pulled up according to how relevant they are to your keyword. It also counts when the pages have keywords that match your inquiry. After finding the pages, these are presented to you in rank order.

That’ why search engines love SEO content. It provides the information needed by the spiders to find your web pages – or not.

Are You Linked Up?

Getting back links to your web site is an important way to improve your rankings on the web. Of course, you still need to get your site SEO optimized, but once you do, links help.

Want to know how to check if you have anyone linking to you? Well, here’s the secret link to find out.

link:http://www.yourdomain.com (Of course, put in your domain name, okay?)

Now, before you go looking, let me give you a few “head’s up” so you won’t be upset if you don’t think all the link exchanging you’ve been doing with your friends is not working.

Links count when they come from sites that are relevant to your keywords. In other words, if you write about golf, linking to your friends who write about cooking will not give you much weight. You have to get links from sites about golf; that’s what will give you “weight.”

So getting links is not the only thing. You have to get the right links. But don’t worry if you still have to work at it. We ALL do, unless you’re a really established SEO’d Internet marketing guru. Keep working at driving good traffic to your site. Put up fresh content, do your blog posts, get on forums and continue to focus on you SEO optimization techniques.

Have fun checking back links!

SEO Rich Keywords

SEO rich content is one of the most common and most effective tactics for increasing website ranking. You can have relevant and informative content on your website but to increase your ranking, your content must use the right SEO keywords.

Keywords are the words people type into the search engine browser to find things on the web. For instance, you might have typed in SEO help. As a result, Internet spiders crawled the web to find a page of information that related to this term. The spiders went in search of the specific words you typed. These were your keywords.

Not every word you type in the browser will show up as a popular keyword. Th secret is to learn what words the majority of people use to search for the same information. These are the terms that become keywords. You want to use these keywords in your content to increase your SEO rankings on the web.

The following tools will make it easier to optimize your content:Keyword tools. While the primary focus of content is to provide valuable information it is also helpful to optimize the content for a keyword or keyword phrase. Keyword tools can help you determine which keywords to use in your content.Duplicate content checkers. Search engines often penalize a site if their content is being used more than once. It’s called duplicate content. In order to avoid this, and get the most use of the content you have written you can compare articles to make sure you’re not going to be penalized.

Why SEO Writing Matters

You might hear the term SEO tossed out if you’ve been on the Internet more than a week. But you might not understand what SEO means or why SEO writing matters.

SEO or Search Engine Optimization is a type of writing that focuses on making sure your website or blog shows up on the search engines. When focusing on getting ranked on the first three pages of the major search engines such as Yahoo, MSN and Google, SEO writing is a necessity.

Your goal with having a web presence is to have potential customers find you when they are searching for the type of products or services you have to offer.

Writing without using SEO techniques could mean spinning your wheels and never getting noticed. You want to get noticed – that’s why SEO writing counts.

Why Danny DeVito’s Mouth was Trouble

Did you hear about the segment on the television show “The View” with Danny DeVito? It’s all the buzz in the news today. Guess Danny D. had a little too much to drink with his pal, Actor George Clooney the night before and was drunk when he was on the show as a guest in the morning. Seems he talked, and talked, and talked. Now he’s in the apologizing phase. The “talk too much now apologize” cycle is getting to be old hat with celebrities, elected officials and other public figures.

Why did Danny DeVito’s mouth get him into trouble? Well, simply, he talked too much. A great thing about being a writer is that you don’t have to talk so much. You can use your time putting your thoughts on paper. Then you have an opportunity to look at your writing and think about it before you let it go public. You even have the chance to erase (tear up, delete) all of the writing without letting anyone ever see it.

You can write anything you want in private as you practice your writing. Write about your thoughts on the President and the Iraq war. Write about why you’re angry with Congress or another politician. It’s all up to you.

I think you’ll find that you feel so much better afterwards. You get your opinion off your chest. Putting it on paper makes it real and alive so it doesn’t bother you as much anymore. Yet, after venting in written words, you probably won’t have to vent in spoken words.

Don’t do what Danny D. did. Instead of talking out loud, write in silence. Take 20 minutes and write about something you feel strongly about in the news today.
